One of the macro-trends that was most noticeable during the last edition of the Salone del Mobile is certainly this new trend of luxury that focuses entirely on minimalism and honesty of materials: wood and fabrics that reveal their true essence, the woods that proudly show veins (even to the touch) and brand new textures for fabrics.
At the Zanette stand I found all this again, quality over quantity the English speakers would say: a small, refined selection of materials and high quality finishes to tell a new collection in collaboration with famous Italian and international designers.
The dark wood in particular (beautiful oak charcoal) characterizes the protagonists of the 2019 collection: the table BITE by Francesc Rifé (even coffee-table as you can see from the cover of the post) and the modules of the new LEI system alternating with red lacquered modules brick.
And speaking of brick red, this seems to be the color we will see most often: in addition to lacquered cupboards and complements in this color – even textiles seem to want to take advantage of it to become the undisputed protagonists of the collection … And what textiles!
The new Zanette collection is in fact totally dressed in Kvadrat fabrics, a Danish company that since 1968 has been offering high-quality contemporary fabrics and that stands out for its “important” textures and – above all – for its trendy colors.
So what do you think of this new minimal luxury?
Have you (like myself) re-evaluated the elegance of dark wood? * _ *
